Our Lifeguard device has a few nifty features, one of which is the screen time feature.
Screen time allows you to set per-device time limits for when devices are able to access the internet.
1. Log into the Lifeguard device and choose the screen time option in the menu on the left.
2. to limit a device’s internet access, select a device from the select device drop down.
3. set up the specific hours per day which a given device can access the the internet, and / or the amount of hours per day which a given device can access the internet.
Now with a device set up and changes applied, the device will have as much access as you’ve provided.
To start the internet usage on the set up device, on the device head over to http://mydevice.safesurfer.co.nz/block.php. This block page will allow the device user to start and stop their block time when they’re going to use it. If the device doesn’t have it’s time started, then it won’t access to the internet until is has been.
- There is a known issue where an SSL error will occur with screen time enabled, once block screen time for the device has been started the error should go away
